Due chitarre velenose faccia a faccia. Composizioni scure, suoni antichi e misteriosi. Heart of Snake è il nuovo progetto di Vincenzo Marando (Movie Star Junkies) e Alberto Danzi (I Residenti, k$m krew). All’esordio con una cassetta di prossima uscita per Maple Death Records.

_SERVANT SONGS è il progetto solista di Nicola Ferloni (Pueblo People, His Electro Blue Voice), questa volta di impronta più cantautorale: chitarra e voce, ma il campo è libero. RYL: Jason Molina, Will Oldham, l’onnipresente Neil Young, Sharon Van Etten.

_LUCA VENITUCCI
Nel suo set solista, Luca Venitucci prova a trarre dalla fisarmonica sonorità diverse da quelle a cui lo strumento è usualmente associato. Le risorse espressive e dinamiche del mantice, la molteplicità di registri, le possibilità insite nell’interazione tra strumento, voce ed altre fonti sonore (fischietti, ance soffiate) divengono mezzi per esplorare un caleidoscopio di intenzioni sonore mutevoli e differenti, in cui l’affiorare di echi tradizionali si lega alla più vertiginosa astrazione.

_HOBO sono Eloisa Manera (violino) e Massimo Giuntoli (harmonium): una formazione agile, dalle sonorità intense e possenti quanto sospese e delicate, determinata a dare vita a una camera da musica itinerante capace di trasformare spazi e luoghi della più varia specie in un’inconsueta avventura sonora.
HOBO si è esibito nei contesti più disparati: palchi di teatri o piazze, sale di palazzi storici, case private, biblioteche, in una rimessa di barche sul fiume e perfino in un bosco, di notte.
La musica di HOBO, composta da Massimo Giuntoli, è caratterizzata da una nutrita varietà di linguaggi di frontiera, con marcate influenze avant-rock, canterburiane, zappiane e novecentesche, nella più ampia accezione.
Cui si aggiungono audaci incursioni nel repertorio classico (il Bartok rivisitato di Mikrokosmos…) e popolare (l’irresoluta contesa tra tango e valzer di Tanzer) dal sapore ironico e surreale.

Palazzi D’Oriente è il progetto solista di Luca, ragazzo di provincia inedito alla scena musicale.
domenica 4 presenterà il suo ep di debutto “morgengabe” attraverso un live set costituito da materiale originale associato a proiezioni curate da Amos Pellegrinelli.

“Tutto è iniziato accumulando materiale audio sul pc. Accatastavo innumerevoli versioni di brani e registrazioni per poi disperderli, fino a quando una traccia prende nome: Morgengabe – Un lento ripetersi di periodi sonori che si presentano con una
ciclicità angosciante, come i pensieri che mi tenevano sveglio. Da li la decisione di dare un senso al mio lavoro, un nome quantomeno, Un amico suggerì Palazzi D’oriente. Ho subito trovato il nome perfetto perchè denso del senso di estraneazione che circonda chi è cresciuto in provincia, limitato ad osservare musica e cultura da lontano, come fosse un miraggio”

The Verge of Ruin is a research in sound and poetry that started in December 2015 by Stefano de Ponti and Shari DeLorian.
The image evoked by Moniker suggests a risky and stimulating position in which the duo from Milan is looking at and responding to the world.
A view that lives in the present and at the same time is strongly connected with several guides and experiences out of the past.
Constantly looking for new vanishing points and responding to creative oppressions which are caused by contemporary collapses of media.
The framework referred to is the one drawn by concrete music and acousmatic art of the XIX century, in particular with references to Cage, Nono, Schaeffer, Xenakis and Scelsi to reach electroacoustic and avant garde electronic-alike shores.
The approach in composition is highly free and deprived from dogmatisms: from radical experi- mentation to sound research and sound production, meant as rough matter to be modelled and equipped with a sense. A pre-de ned conceptual development through graphic scores and the writing and organization of materials coming from other artistic languages, like visual arts and literature.
The accumulation of practices and the registration of sounds, the meeting between studio and eld recordings, from cutting-up to sampling, the use of classic instruments (strings, horns, chords and drums), voices, additive electronic devices and granular and modal synthesis softwares: all these elements give birth to a style that dissociates itself from standard classi cations and labeling. The collaboration with other artists and musicians is crucial. The need for dialogue and exchange among different people and and therefore languages are vital.

Laura Naukkarinen aka Lau Nau è da tempo uno dei nomi più interessanti della scena musicale finlandese. Musica onirica, cinematica e visionaria composta con synth, piccoli strumenti giocattolo, pianoforte e un mare di effetti che nei concerti tendono a creare un rapporto intimo e inconscio con il pubblico.
il 9 novembre, da VOLUM E, suonerà accompagnata dal pianista matt bye e presenterà Poseidon, il suo nuovo album in uscita il 17 novembre su Fonal Records.

I primi album di Lau Nau sono stati pubblicati negli Stati Uniti (Locust music 2005 & 2008). Da allora è in giro per il mondo. L’album di debutto, “Kuutarha”, ha ottenuto grandi recensioni da portali come Pitchfork and Dusted, con The Wire che ha nominato il LP nei suoi 50 album più importanti del 2005 e citando lo spettacolo di Philadelphia di quell’anno tra i “60 concerti che hanno scosso il mondo”. Negli ultimi anni, Laura ha composto e prodotto musica per cinema, teatro, danza e installazioni sonore. Accompagna i film in silenzio e compone musica per i lungometraggi.
Il quinto album “Poseidon” verrà pubblicato nel mese di novembre. È un album orchestrale, nato dalla collaborazione con Matti Bye, Helena Espvall, Samuli Kosminen, Pekko Käppi e Antti Tolvi.

“The songs of Poseidon want to be performed on stage by a character called Lau Nau. It’s the melancholic, always dreaming part of me that stands on the stage and shares fractured moments with the audience. The songs on Poseidon are small secular prayers and messages of love, sorrow and care. Poseidon is a god of the sea but also the name of a bar in Helsinki. He veils us in the fog when the night falls.”

All’interno della serata verrà proiettato per la prima volta a Bologna il video realizzato dalle due artiste Ester Grossi e Sara Bonaventura durante una residenza artistica presso il “Centro di ricerca delle arti contemporanee” (CRAC) di Lamezia Terme per la traccia Kun lyhdyt illalla sytytetään, ne eivät sammu koskaan che fa parte dell’ultimo album Poeseidon di Lau Nau uscito per la Fonal Records nel 2017.
Il video, nelle parole delle autrici, è «esteticamente lontano dal linguaggio standard del videoclip (come tutti i video di Lau Nau), realizzato quasi completamente con effetti analogici», ed essendo basato su miti e leggende locali in una terra che è un mix tra passato leggendario e presente poetico, il rimando più evidente è al mito greco della sirena Ligea: soprattutto le sovrapposizioni vocali di Lau Nau hanno ispirato le due al punto da immaginare «un personaggio femminile abitante nelle acque tirreniche, avente la capacità di “osservare” il mondo con occhi particolarmente cromatici».

Rainbow Island are an interdimensional-psych band based in Rome, Italy. Crystal Smerluvio Riddims is their second LP following their acclaimed debut RNBW, released in 2012, two cassette releases and their participation in the Interdimensional Folklore Vol. I compilation release by the Milan Communion collective in late 2016.

Rainbow Island is a prominent voice in the Italian psych underground and in the Rome psych community that gravitates around the Dal Verme club, the Thalassa festival and bands such as Mai Mai Mai and Heroin in Tahiti. Rainbow Island’s drummer also played a few dates with Mai Mai Mai in the past months.
Rainbow Island explore interdimensional territories and frequencies coming from distant universes and unchanneled frequencies. Rainbow Island sound brings together elements of electronics, psych-space rhythms and temporal explorations. RNBW was meant to be the inauguration of the project and the launch of the journey to the unexplored Bongolandia, while Crystal Smerluvio Riddims is the continuation of the exploration, brought to a more mature and conscious level. In this new album Rainbow Island’s futuristic psychedelia meets dub and primitive rhythms.

In Rainbow Island words, the rhythmical heart of each composition included in Crystal Smerluvio Riddims is made of a concept of lightning coloured multidimensional bismuth crystal and smerluviante viscous matter. Crystal Smerluvio Riddims is Rainbow Island response to the raising dark Aggrocene geological era and it smerluvio matter. The album is a blob of chaotic sounds and information overload in the shape of a crystal, a place where Rainbow Island tripping across sounds and influences comes together.

Crystal Smerluvio Riddims is released jointly by Flying Kids Records (FKR) – FKR also released Rainbow Island’s first album RNBW in 2012 – and the Rome-based NO=FI Recordings, that already worked with Rainbow Island in 2013 for the tape Road to Mirapuri. The graphics project for the new album has been curated by multi-artist Canedicoda, who is also responsible for the experimental project Ottaven.

Common Eider, King Eider is an evolving art and music collaboration between Rob Fisk (Badgerlore, Six Organs of Admittance/Hexadic collaborator), Vicky Fong, Andee Connors (A Minor Forest), Andrew Weathers and Blaine Todd. A potent mix of blackened ambience, drone and silence incorporating viola, vast chorale arrangements, and field recordings.
Labels representing CEKE since their inception in 2007 include Cold Spring, Pesanta Urfolk, Black Horizons, Root Strata, Sol y Nieve, and their own imprint Caribou People.

Alison Chesley aka Helen Money è una violoncellista sperimentale con influenze che vanno da Pablo Casas a Šostakovič passando per Jimi Hendrix e Minutemen. questo per far capire fin da subito che il suo è un approccio contemporaneo, libero e punk o addirittura metal a uno strumento ‘classico’ come il violoncello. ha collaborato con artisti del calibro di Bob Mould, Broken Social Scene, Anthrax, Mono, Russian Circles, Disturbed and Poi Dog Pondering, pubblica dischi con Profound Lore Records e Thrill Jockey e ha girato il mondo con gente come Shellac, Shellac, Neurosis, Sleep, Russian Circles, Magma, Agalloch, Earth, and Nina Nastasia.
