Daniel Johnston / ARTISTIC VICE AND ‘1990’

Classic double header from the late Daniel Johnston. The two albums are completely different in tone and texture but work nicely together showcasing two sides of his songwriting. ‘Artistic Vice’ is upbeat and poppy and sees Johnston often at his giddiest whereas ‘1990’ is the comedown – an implausibly bleak work that, while beautiful, makes you worry about this troubled soul.
